Drill

The drill is an invaluable tool used by Rock-Raiders when no vehicles are able to drill at walls. When you first start a level, it is possible you will not have any vehicles, and you shall need to drill rock to aquire the Ore and Crystals needed for a vehicle, this is when your Rock-Raiders shall fetch their drill.

This is used to clear rubble from the floor after a rock-fall. This helps to speed up units if they are crossing a mound of rubble regularly. Also there may be some Ore buried beneath the rubble, and clearing it away will enable you to find it.

If a building has been under heavy attack by a creature such as the Rock-Monster, it may sustain some damage. This could stop the building operating correctly, and slow down progress in the game. Although, if a Rock-Raider is equiped with the correct tool, the spanner, then he/she will walk to the building and using the spanner, repair it as fast as they can. The time it takes to repair a building will depend on the engineering knowledge of the Rock-Raider and the level of damage the building has sustained.

The hammer may be used to build a wall-reinforcement. Reinforcing a wall prevents rock-falls occuring at that particular location, although be careful when recinforcing that a rock-fall doesn't happen while a Rock-Raider is standing in front of the wall.
Reinforcing is also very useful for detering rock-based creatures, like the Rock-Monster. A Rock-Monster is unable to penetrate a wall that has been reinforced, so if all penetrable rock is reinforced, the Rock-Monster will be unable to climb in or out of that rock.
